Board meetings are open to any YOS member or “potential” member! Check the calendar for time and places.
March 18: Euro Sunday. “Cars and coffee” at Euro Sunday Modesto: Village Baking Company and Cafe, 1700 McHenry, Modesto. General assembly from 8:00 to 10:30.
March 23-24: Drive to Thunderhill for PCA “Club Race”. We are “evolving” this event since there will be opportunities to participate in Driver’s Education (aka. Track Day) sessions, and a couple of “us” are planning to sign up to get our cars on Thunderhill! So, the options are: 1) join us on the drive to Willows, CA on Friday evening. Overnight at a reasonably priced motel in Willows. Then PARTICIPATE in the Driver’s Education portion of the GGR event -> on the track! Beginners will receive personal, in car instruction every lap!. Chuck will help you with DE registration and how to do safety car preparations. 2) Drive up to Thunderhill Saturday morning, hook up with “us” Driver’s Education folks, enjoy the facility, see local Porsche race cars and meet their drivers, watch club racing at its best!
Go to the event posting to register for either of the two “options”.
April 13-15: A DRIVE to Featherbed Railroad B&B This is our “first” multi-day drive/tour (in recent history anyway) and features two nights at the Featherbed Railroad B&B — the rooms are cabooses!! This event is limited by the number of cabooses available — 9 overall. NOTE: as of Feb 12, there are NO MORE CABOOSEs LEFT! Watch the event positings for a report on the Drive!
May 12th YOS PCA presents: a High Tea Luncheon at The Hidden Team Room, Lodi California, May 12th from 11Am to 1PM. This event is the first for “the Ladies”. There are only 2 places at the table left, so register soon. Cost is $31.71 (tax, fees and gratuity included).
June 23: A Wine Tasting Tour in Plymouth, Ca, in Amador County. This event is being developed by Dave Dunn and is very preliminary. Watch this space for details as they become available.
July 14/15: A Drive to Los Angeles for the Porsche Effect exhibition at Petersen Auto Museum, AND, a visit to the Porsche Experience Center- LA. This tour is in the development stage by Chuck and Larry. The idea is to drive south from the Modesto area into LA visiting some non-freeway roads along the way. Then depending on when reservations for the PEC-LA can be made (either morning or afternoon) schedule the visit to the museum to fit in the day. The drive “home” to follow on the next day. Watch this space for details as they become available.
Aug 5th: SAVE THE DATE for the “Members BBQ” at the Pierce’s home. Last year’s Member’s BBQ was a total awesome event — Chuck and Jennifer outdid themselves as host/hostess. The members had a great time also!! So, watch this space for details and you won’t want to miss the 2018 edition!
Yosemite Region uses Eventbrite to organize our events. Registration, via Eventbrite, is available on the “button” at either the top or the bottom of the website event description or by YOS email blasts.
