Norm Swanberg has been working on getting a tour of the Blackhawk Automotive Museum for our region. And it is now set! This is YOUR chance to get your car museum “fix” — in case you are not going to make the big drive to Los Angeles and the Petersen Automotive Museum!
The date is July 22 with the tour at Blackhawk scheduled for 11:00 AM. Cost is $15 per person/$10 for seniors, students or veterans. You can even buy your tickets “on line“. The tour should last between 1 hr to 1.5 hr, depending on the questions we ask!! Norm has been promised that our docent would be Ed Holloway, one of the more senior docents at the museum.
The “event” would start at 9:00 AM, starting at the Starbucks in Manteca, by Costco off Airport Road (2168 Daniels St, Manteca, CA 95337) and then “drive” to the museum in Danville. Some interesting and twisty roads in the Livermore Valley will be involved — avoiding the straight and wide interstates as much as possible!
Of course, there is the chance for an interesting lunch after the tour — so many places to choose from “over there”, but that is still under discussion/planning.
Stay tuned and watch this space, or President Pierce’s emails for more details. But you can reserve your place in the event by clicking the registration button here: and completing the Eventbrite (free) registration.
