El Portal editor, Jacki Sturkie, has published her first El Portal using a different format. Click HERE to load the August Edition. You will find that some of the content is “linked” within the newsletter. For example, rather than “re-printing” all of our Zone 7 representative’s message, El Portal will provide an introduction and link to the “whole” message.
Also, as Jacki describes the approach, “We’d like to feature more content about you, our members. Please submit stories, photos or other news to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Wishing you a safe rest of the summer until we are able to meet again in person.”
The El Portal is the center part of a three prong communication approach to keeping Yosemite Region members up to date on what’s going on. The most “immediate” communication approach is the “email@example.com” BLASTS from our president. These email “blasts” contain focused communications on upcoming events or immediate information or news.
El Portal is the second prong of our communication toolbox and is intended to provide monthly updates, reviews, messages from the president, etc.
The website, yos.pca.org, is the third prong of the toolbox. It is intended to serve as an easy “go-to” resource for current information, reviews of past events, new “news” events (such as this notice of the El Portal) and archival depository for regional information, such as past issues of El Portal, region documents (such as by laws, links to forms, past board meeting minutes), and current event “calendars” for regional, zone and national events.
