Its 5:00 PM Sat Sept 17th and…
Yosemite Park CLOSED for smoke.
Clearly, the trip “into” the park is not going to happen. The board is quickly re-imaging the drive to simply end at Rush Creek Lodge for breakfast.
A lot of coordination is in the works: coordination with PCA national office, coordination with Rush Creek Lodge, the list goes on.
There are three things that will make this drive unique for us—
- This drive will not have a planned social event—this is just a meet up and drive.
- The drive will end at the lodge; from there everyone is free to visit their own destination and return at their leisure.
Our plan is still to assemble in Oakdale early that Sunday morning. The drive out will be casual and with highway traffic we expect the group to be separated at times. Members are encouraged to make their bathroom stops and coffee breaks in advance. We won’t be making any planned stops but our meetup point in the park will give everyone flexibility if separated. Note that most Park stores and services are open but under social distancing rules.
Details for the drive are worked out and final If you have any questions, feel free to email Brian using the Contact form.
We will publish a full report of the trip, so even if you didn’t get a chance to join us, you can see what you missed? — wow, that seems harsh!!
