Nominated For President, Dave Boyd

Dave has agreed to take on the reins of the region, if approved in the 2021 election!   Here is his message  about his roots and why he would like to lead the region as President:

Yosemite Region has great enthusiasm and passion and I’d like to keep it going!   There are still things that we can do, as a club, to expand our offerings to its members.  For me, my passion started 3 years before I was born, when my Dad took factory delivery of a 1956 356A. Stationed in Germany where he was a dental technician in United States Army and drove the Autobahn with my mom.

Shipped back to the states with his new wife and his beloved black on red 356. From New York the newlyweds drove coast to coast and in January of 1959, you guessed it, I was born. The young couple with a new baby in the ultimate family car a Porsche 356. I was told, that my mom put me in a basket and safely placed in the back seat and we were off to our next journey. Sad to say, the 356 was sold for a responsible family car, a 1963 Ford station wagon and the beloved 356 was never seen again.

The tradition continued, when I married my wife Marianne, and we drove from our reception with cans tied to bumper in our red 1984 Porsche 944. As a newly married couple, what better way to meet likeminded people, but to join the Porsche Club of America. Though many years of raising kids, paying for college and building a business we are back to where everything started. The Boyd’s own a 2007 Carrera S and a 1972 SCCA E Production 914 vintage racecar and Marianne’s 914.

Nominated for Vice President:  Jeff Rosenthal

While Jeff is fairly new to the region, his enthusiasm bubbles over. Jeff is from a multi-generational Porsche family – similarly to Dave Boyd, Jeff came home from the hospital in his father’s tangerine / black 1971 911T, and his love of Porsche hasn’t ceased since. Upon acquiring his first Porsche (a 2013 Cayenne GTS), Jeff began representing Yosemite Region in the in the PCA Sim Racing world – the logo on his (virtual world) GT3R race car even has the Yosemite logo on it! He has participated in both the PCA Sim Racing series and iRacing’s endurance sim racing events with other PCA members this year, but left time to expand his “real world” garage from his Cayenne to a 40th Edition Carrera!

Jeff is interested in building on the enthusiasm that the region has enjoyed over the last several years (thanks to Yosemite region Presidents Chuck Pierce and Brian Sturkie) and wants the region to continue to offer a range of fun, educational and inclusive events and activities for all our members.
