“Tour” and “Taste” event at St Jorge Winery, Acampo CA
April 17 @ 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Date: April 17: This event was originally planned as a virtual tasting, but after visiting the winery several Board members recommended we make this an in-person even! Membership Chair Anthony Vierra has put together a guided tasting at St Jorge Winery. The St. Jorge Winery is a boutique-size winery specializing in Portuguese varietals grown locally and at the estate. Their varietals include Tempranillo, Verdelho, Portuguese “Port”, Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Old Vine Zinfandel.
The event will begin in Farmington, rallying at Lagorions on the corner of Hwy 4 and Escalon Road, Sat April 17th at @ 8:30 AM. Parking is odd as “double” parking off Highway 4 is allowed/encouraged. We will leave @ 9:00, continuing east to Angels Camp, then north on Highway 49 (The Golden Chain Highway), through Jackson, then West on Highway 88 and onto the winery in Acampo.
Lunch will be members’ own picnic lunch on the winery grounds. The winery will prepackage two wines: one white and one red wine from their collection for $37 plus Eventbrite fees paid at registration. Winery staff will lead a “tasting” at 1PM of the two wines selected for the “package deal”.
Don’t forget that in accordance with National PCA guidelines, you’ll need a Communicable Disease Waiver and a mask This event will be an outdoor event but restrictions in San Joaquin County remain at the high.
Thanks for your patience as the Region continues to explore new activities that comply with local and county guidelines.
