The Tech Talk at Stevens Creek Porsche was a big hit! 14 cars if I counted right. The dealership rolled out the Guards Red carpet for us with catered coffee, breakfast and gift bags with a Taycan paperweight. Lucky for us there were both a 918 and Carrera GT in for service. Many members approached me after and said it exceeded their expectations.
The staff was great and our organizer, Glenna, has been there 13 years and is a walking encyclopedia of part numbers.
Techs Steven and Rob answered a lot of Q&A on oil weights, powertrain systems and electric car service intervals. Plus some deep dives into the PCCM retrofits for Classic Porsches.
What I found interesting is that there are four pages of maintenance interval items for ICE models and only two for electrics. If I read the paperwork right the service interval on a Taycan can be as long as two years.
Both techs approached me after with their cell phone numbers for us to contact them with any questions. And the dealer suggested doing something quarterly!
Parking at the dealership was tight so we really couldn’t take the time to back everyone into a “stagged” photo. A small fee to pay for an extraordinary event!
